Collier Pregnancy Center offers limited obstetrical ultrasound. These ultrasound scans are conducted to detect fetal heartbeat, estimate a due date, and determine fetal age (how far along you are). Ultrasound involves the use of high-frequency sound waves. The waves are then bounced off of body tissues using special devices. These echoes are then converted into a picture called a sonogram. Ultrasound imaging, referred to as ultrasonography, allows patients to get an inside view of body tissues and cavities. Ultrasound is often used to examine a fetus during pregnancy. There is no convincing evidence for any danger from ultrasound during pregnancy. For more information please contact us at 239-262-6381.
